Question by Diana: What will our christmas business be called?
We sell xmas stockings, santa letters, etc.
Someone suggested Santa’s little helpers but that is unimaginative. We will be entering a company competition and last year’s winners were called that.
PS I put in in this section because there might be some imaginative people here

Marketing Tips for Your Quilting Business

Quilts have a long history and tradition. For those who own quilts, they not only see them as decorative linens but see them as symbols of a special event or person in their lives. The tradition of quilting in the United States dates back to American colonial times when women from wealthy classes engaged in whole cloth quilting. The American pioneer period and the contributions of African American women ushered in the tradition of producing quilts from old scraps of paper and worn-out blankets. Quilting during this period was primarily utilitarian rather than decorative. Quilting today combines hand-sewn and hand-guided machine quilting methods. Small quilting businesses are often met with challenges such as limited marketing resources and commercial competition. One inexpensive and effective marketing tool that can be used by quilting companies is printed marketing materials. Below are examples of these printed materials.

Flyers – Flyers are quick and handy materials for information and promotion. They can be used to spread awareness about store openings, seasonal offers, product launches, and discounted prices. They can feature information including business name, contact information, and details leading to other marketing tools such as a website or blog. Full color, flyer printing can be ordered though online printing services. Online printing companies offer customers a variety of expertly-designed templates or the freedom to upload their own designs onto their website.

Hang Tags – Hang tags are useful and nifty promotional materials. They are important as they serve as the product’s badge. Ideally, hang tags should feature distinctive colors and designs, complete with other brand tools such as business name, logo, and location. They should also feature information such as quilt material, dimensions, code, color and design stocks. Bulk orders of hang tags can be printed using commercial, online printing services.

Posters – Poster printing can be a high-impact and vivid way to promote a quilting business. Business owners can print poster campaigns that feature quilting patterns as subjects and promote the business by printing its name, logo, and location. They can also include a list of  services, business history, materials, and even methods used. Full color posters can also be printed with online printing services at reasonable or even discounted prices.
