Question by J.J. Walker Rides Again!: I can’t afford Christmas gifts this year. Do I tell my kids the truth about Santa or say they were bad?
They are 3, 4 and 6.
Should I put coal in their stockings and hope for a better year next year or tell them the truth that Santa is a hoax and we are broke ? I tried getting on charity lists and they were booked up. Please don’t say get rid of my computer.
no to the dollar store and thrift shops unless if they carry xbox 360 and iphones!

Question by heather: How much do you spend on family members for christmas gifts?
I love shopping for other people and usually start shopping for Christmas gifts in August. this tends to lead to large amounts of money spent on nieces, nephews and grandparents in comparison to my husband and daughter. In the effort to be more financially minded, I am wondering what an appropriate amount of money is to spend on gifts. Or if anyone has advice on how i can spend less aside from sale shopping. thanks
